The Department of Health Sciences is one of five Departments within the School of Medicine which operates within the College of Medicine, Biological Sciences and Psychology.  The Department is located across various sites of the University of Leicester as well as within the University Hospitals of Leicester. Our Research is based around a number of broad themes, with extensive collaborations both within these themes, and with other research groupings and themes in the College, University and elsewhere.

We play a central role in teaching the MBChB Undergraduate course offered by University of Leicester Medical School. Postgraduate studies include PhD, MPhil, MRes, as well as one-year and part-time taught Masters courses. The Department provides a rich and well-staffed environment for Postgraduate students, with excellent teaching and energetic lecturing staff comprised of top health science researchers with established strengths across epidemiology, medical statistics, public health, health services and psychiatry.
