Welcome to the Department of Mathematics. We provide teaching in a number of areas at undergraduate and postgraduate level and undertake cutting edge research.

Postgraduate Mathematics at the University of Leicester

Our staff at Leicester have a strong reputation for providing first-class postgraduate education owing to being a department of leading researchers who provide the direct teaching on all our programmes. Our graduates go on to have careers in finance, banking, business, and consultancy in numerous countries across the world.
We have both a strong MSc and PhD presence on campus with a friendly and vibrant community. Currently there are over 35 active students undertaking research degrees and 80 students undertaking MSc degrees.
