    Why study Media at Leicester?

The 2009/10 'Where did they go?' report is out, with good news for our undergraduates.

Each year, the University surveys UK and EU graduates of its undergraduate programmes to see what they're up to, 6 months after graduation. The 2009/10 report contained good news about graduates from Media and Communications:

    1. In these economically-challenging times, a big concern are those who have yet to find employment. Our students are doing better than most, with a lower percentage unemployed at the 6-month mark than the average across the University and across the College of Social Science.

    2. What are our graduates up to? A whole range of things, including full-time, part-time and voluntary work and undertaking further study. In fact, 62% are in full-time employment, full-time study, or a combination of study and work.

    3. For those that are in full-time employment, their degree has made a big difference to the work they do: 78% are in 'graduate' jobs--meaning that they've found employment in professional or specialist occupations that rely to some degree on having done an undergraduate degree. That's a great result, and better than the average across the University and across the College.

Well done to our graduates! If you're an undergraduate student, please remember to keep an eye out for the survey when your time comes, so you can let us know what you're up to.
