Biological sciences have been taught in Huddersfield since the 1960s and now covers all branches of the subject. Courses are modern and stimulating, and research in the Department is rapidly expanding. Specialist areas include forensic biology, the origins of disease and, uniquely, archeogenetics.
The Department is headed by Dr Dougie Clarke, and includes over 20 academic staff, research fellows and senior research fellows.
